questionMark  Is Dirt Cheap Mover licensed and insured?
answer  Yes. Our Cal-T number is 189860. Cal-T is the license number issued to a moving company by the California Public Utilities Commission. We have $50,000 of cargo insurance plus $750,000 of public and private liability insurance as required by the Public Utilities Commission.

questionMark  Is it true that Dirt Cheap Mover never charges by the hour like other moving companies? How does this work?
answer  You always want to avoid paying a moving company by the hour. This benefits the mover and the customer is upset that they paid much more than their budget allowed. Dirt Cheap Mover only charges by a single dollar amount for your entire move. This is a Fixed Rate or also referred to as a Flat Rate quotation. There are never hidden or extra charges, ever. All equipment (except boxes), shrink wrap, extra tape, padding, etc is always included. We keep your moving experience simple and will always beat other moving company's Fixed Rate/Flat Rate quotations. We will always provide you with this quotation in writing, and it never expires. We want a long-term relationship, to move you again, and for you to inform your friends and family that you know of an honest moving company with integrity, Dirt Cheap Mover.

questionMark  Do you move outside of California?
answer  No, we are not licensed to move outside of California.

questionMark  How long have you been in business?
answer  Dirt Cheap Mover has been in business for over 3 years. You should be impressed that 62% of our business is already repeat business. We are proud to announce that we have NEVER had an insurance claim.

questionMark  What type of trucks do you use?
answer  Dirt Cheap Mover utilizes a wide variety of tools based on the customers needs. We have up to 26' enclosed box trucks with hydraulic lifts to our preferred method of our cargo van pulling a 20' long open padded trailer. There is a difference in which tools provide the best quality move. While other moving companies use the standard box truck, we're more advanced, here's why.

COMPARISON

24' enclosed diesel truck with hydraulic lift

Pros:
1. best for rainy days

Cons:
1. operating danger of hydraulic lift.
2. off-hour noise of hydraulic lift.
3. slower loading / unloading of hydraulic lift.
4. stiffer ride due to 6 high pressure tires, only 2 axles.
5. maximum 3 mover personnel.
6. higher operating cost.
7. tie-down ratchets potential damage to cargo.
8. space inefficiency of tie-down ratchets.
9. truck interior is unpadded.
10. height is limited to 9'.
11. increases Instant Quote prices.

Full size cargo van with 20' long padded open trailer (your best option)

Pros:
1. 360 degree loading / unloading capability.
2. faster loading / unloading.
3. ramp allows personnel on & off simultaneously.
4. trailer arrives fully padded, including floor.
5. all ratcheting is on the exterior, not interior (no scratches to cargo).
6. only soft straps contact your cargo, never a ratchet.
7. cargo height up to 12'-6".
8. extra long items can easily be loaded.
9. total of 8 low pressure tires with 4 axles resulting in a much softer ride.
10. lower ground height.
11. Allow up to 4 mover personnel.
12. keeps Instant Quotes lower than competition.

Cons:
1. 15% reduction in cargo capacity.
2. Less protection in rain.

prepareForMove

questionMark  How much preparation does Dirt Cheap Mover require prior to arrival?
answer  In order for us to maintain our efficiency, and thus super low quotations, we require that all packing is completed prior to our arrival, not during Dirt Cheap Mover's arrival. Please note that you are expected to:

1. Have all box flaps closed and taped, or folded shut.

2. All electronic equipment placed into boxes.

3. All non-boxed electrical equipment such as television, lamp, light, fan and refrigerator electrical cords secured to their respective items without dangling. Taping or gently knotting the cords is acceptable.

4. Light bulbs removed and lamp shades placed into boxes.

5. Have all dogs and cats secured so they stay safe.

questionMark  Do you provide boxes and moving supplies?
answer  Dirt Cheap Mover does not provide any additional supplies but we do have an excellent relationship with a very inexpensive moving supplier named, One Stop Box, based in Corona. One Stop Box sells new and used moving boxes of all sizes, designed for moving household items, including dishes, lamps, pictures, mirrors, TV's, computers, books and clothes on hangers. In addition, they sell packing paper-single and multi-ply sheets including bubble wrap-sheets, rolls or pouches. Tape and tape dispensers. Hard to find box sizes for oversized or irregular shaped objects. Heavy duty double walled cardboard boxes.

questionMark  What if I cancel my reservation at the last minute? Is there a cancellation charge?
answer  There is no cancellation charge. We simply cancel your reservation. Just notify us by calling Steve at (714) 342-0669. We'll cancel your reservation or you may reschedule if you desire. Almost all moving companies charge for cancellations, we never do. This excellent customer service is one reason why we have so many repeat customers.

questionMark  What if an item is damaged or broken during a move?
